The world is filled with unique beings and stories; what I do is take those stories and tell them through scarves.
WHY WE DO IT
Fabric Poetry expresses my desire to explore new ways of bringing art into everyday life. My pieces reflect the quest to find beauty and intense meaning in each of our days, no matter how mundane. I want to use my pieces as a way to manifest someone’s uniqueness.
Someone calls me “the author that publishes scarves,” and I honestly think he is right. I love to have conversations and transform the essence of a person into one scarf. I believe everyone has a story worth sharing. I mix my journalist background with my love for painting, writing, observing, traveling… I always look for beauty and the immense value of small things.
WHY WE LOVE OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
I value closeness and proximity, wherever it can be found. I find that locally, we get to experience the most humane contact between people.
THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE WE FACED
Starting is the hardest part. We have so many unique scarves to create! It’s been difficult to find the right seamstresses who can work carefully with different materials. I moved to Los Angeles from Europe three years ago and the cultural shift has been challenging as well.
